About This Tour
Day 1: Agadir / Ouarzazate (400 km)
Departure for Ouarzazate via Taroudant (Former capital of Souss), with its beautiful ramparts and lively souks.
Continue to Taznakhte, via Jbel Siroua and the Tizi-n-Taghatin pass (1,700 meters), passing through Taliouine (home to the best saffron plantations). Arrival in Ait Ben Haddou.
Lunch and visit of the region’s most famous kasbahs, including Taourirt, and a visit to the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a filming location for many cinematic productions and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Day 2: Ouarzazate / Toudgha (180 km)
Departure for Toudgha, via the Dades Valley, and a visit to its gorges with winding roads, known as the "Thousand Kasbahs Road." A beautiful landscape unfolds: fortified villages, kasbahs, ksours.
Lunch in the Dades gorges, then continue to Toudgha for an overnight stay at the Toudgha gorges and dinner on-site.
Day 3: Toudgha / Merzouga (180 km)
After breakfast, departure for the Toudgha gorges for a local visit, with a one-hour walk (optional) in the Tinghir valley. Continue towards Merzouga, passing through Tinjdad, Arfoud with its famous fossilized marbles.
Pass through Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet, and head toward the Merzouga desert via a track.
Arrival at the foot of the dunes, camel ride to reach the camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the sunset with a panoramic view of the endless dunes typical of the Moroccan Sahara: Mint tea, dinner, a lively evening with local Gnaoui music, and overnight under the tent or under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga / Zagoura (300 km)
Wake up early to watch the magnificent sunrise. After breakfast, continue towards Rissani, the ancient southern capital founded in the 8th century.
Travel along the Saghro massif with its mineral landscapes, crossing Alnif and Tazarine (lunch along the way).
Reach Zagoura with its magnificent palm grove (the world’s largest palm grove, 220 km long and 18 km wide) to spend the night.
Day 5: Zagoura / Ouarzazate (170 km)
Travel along the Draa Valley with its beautiful palm grove, then continue towards Agdez. Stop at Agdez for a brief pause and a visit to the traditional local souk.
Continue via the Tizi-n-Tinififft pass (1,660 meters) and take the track leading to the Alkaid Ali kasbah in Tamnougalte.
Lunch on-site in a local restaurant.
Continue to Ouarzazate, and arrive in Aït Ben Haddou; visit the region’s most famous kasbahs, including Taourirt, and the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a filming location for many international film productions. Overnight at Aït Ben Haddou.
Day 6: Ouarzazate / Marrakech (220 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas via Tizi-n-Tichka (2,260 meters).
Stop along the way to take in panoramic views of the High Atlas and its snow-capped peaks.
Lunch in Marrakech, with the afternoon dedicated to visiting Marrakech, the former imperial city founded in 1062. You will discover the majestic Koutoubia Minaret, which dominates the red houses, the Majorelle Garden, and the Saadian tombs.
Then visit the Bahia Palace, the seat of Grand Vizier Ba Ahmed, and the Dar Si-Said Fine Arts Museum.
Continue with a visit to the Djemaa el Fna square, the vibrant heart of the city, filled with music, singers, and story-tellers.
You can also visit nearby artisanal shops offering spices, leather goods, copper, slippers, and more.
Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 7: Marrakech / Essaouira / Agadir (360 km)
After breakfast, depart for Essaouira. Lunch and visit to Essaouira.
There is much to discover, including the Sidi Mohammed Museum, the Scala of the port, the medina, and the chance to walk along the ramparts, visit the very active and typical fishing port, explore the coastal area, and the local fish market.
Stroll through the city’s labyrinthine streets, stopping at shops, and if desired, visit an Argan oil cooperative.
Typical lunch: Grilled fish of various types at the port.
Continue towards Agadir, taking the coastal road with beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and its stunning landscapes, dotted with goats perched on argan trees, offering excellent photo opportunities with stops along the way.
